Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) was established in 1984 and located in Shanghai, China. SHUPL is a beautiful and distinctive institution of higher learning. Our goal is to build a disciplinary system focused on the major of Law while a variety of subjects such as Politics, Marxism Theory, Sociology, Economics, Management, Literature, Pedagogy, Arts and so forth develop coordinately. SHUPL is working on becoming a distinctive, first-rate, application-oriented university of political science and law. SHUPL has been adhering to international education and for international students, we are committed to cultivating excellent talents with “6C”(cooperative、communicative、courteous、 curious、critical、 creative ）quality, hundreds of students from more than 70 countries have studied here.

SHUPL consists of Law School, School of Economic Law (Silk Road Lawyers School), the School of International Law, School of Criminal Justice, School of Policing Studies, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Economics and Management, School of Social Management, School of Language & Culture, Shanghai Documentary School, School of Continuing Education and Computer-teaching Department, Sports Department and other teaching departments Currently, there are more than 40 undergraduate majors in law, Business Administration, International Economics and Trade, Economics and Finance, E-commerce and Law, Political Science and Administration, International Politics, Chinese Language and Literature, journalism, Radio and Television Studies, Radio and Television Writing and Directing, Chinese Language and International Education. According to the Ranking of China's Best Universities by Software Science 2020, The university ranks 4th in the "2020 China Political and Legal University Ranking". The university ranked 156th out of 1,200 universities in the 2020 Quality Ranking of Chinese University Freshmen.

SHUPL adheres to the international education strategy. At present, it has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 universities and institutions in the world. The university has been funded students' internship programs in international organizations for four consecutive years, ranking first among Shanghai universities in terms of the number of funded students. As a member of the "Silk Road Government Scholarship International Student Training Institute", "Sino-US Humanities Program International Student Training Institute" and "Study in China" Overseas Pre-Science Education Alliance, THE university has been approved to set up the only preparatory education center for liberal arts and business students in the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as the official HSK test center. Since 2013, it has enrolled more than 400 foreign students from 68 countries. In 2020, we passed the Quality certification of Studying in China by China Education Association for International Exchange with excellent results.
